This guide explains the integration between Imageshop and Adobe Lightroom Classic. If you encounter technical issues with the integration along the way, we recommend checking the troubleshooting section on updates at the very bottom of this page.
Step 1: Download and Install Photo Upload FTP
To transfer images directly from Adobe Lightroom to the Imageshop image bank, you must first acquire and install the Adobe plugin Photo Upload FTP. This plugin enables seamless file transfers to external web-based platforms.
- Open Lightroom Classic, click on «File» in the top menu, and select «Plug-in Manager».
- Click the «Exchange Add-ons» button. This will open a new webpage in your browser where you can find plugins for Adobe software.

- Search for «Photo Upload FTP» on the Adobe Exchange page. Click on the plugin and press «Buy» to acquire it.

- After completing the purchase, the plugin will automatically sync and be added to your Adobe Creative Cloud application. You can complete the installation as follows:
- Open the Adobe Creative Cloud app on your computer. Navigate to «Stock & Marketplace», select «Plugins», and click on «Manage Plugins».
- Locate «Photo Upload FTP» in the list and click «Install». You will receive a standard notification stating that the plugin is developed by a third party – click «Ok» to approve and complete.

Step 2: Locate login information and edit auto publishing settings
Before configuring the integration in Lightroom, you must retrieve your unique FTP account details from Imageshop. This is done as follows:
- Log in to the Imageshop administration panel with an administrator account.
- Open the dropdown menu at the top of the page, select «Edit», and click on «Auto publishing».
In this screen, you will find three specific parameters required to connect Lightroom to the image bank: Server, Username, and Password. (If you cannot locate this information on your profile, please contact us at support@imageshop.org, and we will assist you.)
Optional Customization (Auto Publishing): To save time, you can choose to automate metadata for files transferred from Lightroom:
- Click on the «Edit» link all the way to the right on the same row where your login information is listed.
- This will take you to a settings page where you can predefine fixed fields such as Name, Description, Keywords, etc. Any information you save here will automatically be applied to all images uploaded via the Adobe Lightroom integration going forward.

Step 3: Connect the Lightroom integration to Imageshop
- Go back to Lightroom Classic. In the left side panel, navigate down to the «Publish Services» section and double-click on the «Photo Upload» line. You will be prompted to accept the terms of use – click on «Agree».

- Under the «Photo Upload - Account» section, we will now prepare the connection:
- Click on the «License Key» button (1) to paste the license key you received when purchasing the plugin.
- Set the selection for «Upload to» to «FTP Site» (2).
- Then, click on the «Connect to FTP» button (3).

- After clicking «Connect to FTP», the window expands with additional configuration fields. Enter the values you retrieved from the Imageshop administration panel here:
- Site URL: Enter the address labeled as «Server» in Imageshop.
- Username and Password: Enter the corresponding username and password from admin in Imageshop.
- Site name: You can optionally enter any name you prefer (e.g., Imageshop). This name is only used internally within your Lightroom overview and does not affect the actual connection.
- Port: Ensure this field is set to 21.
- Start directory: This field must be left completely empty.
- Use SSL/TLS: Set to On (enabled).
- Disable EPSV: Set to Off (disabled).
- Use PASV IP address: Set to Off (disabled).

- Click «Ok». When the window updates and confirms «Account status: Ok» (1), click «Save» (2) to archive the settings. The integration is now ready for use!

Step 4: Upload images to Imageshop
When transferring images from Lightroom to Imageshop, you utilize the standard export functionality within the program.
- Select the images you wish to upload and press the shortcut Ctrl + Shift + E (Windows) or Command + Shift + E (Mac). Alternatively, you can right-click on the images and select «Export» -> «Export...».
- At the top of the export window, set the «Export to» selection to «Photo Upload». This selection will be remembered for the next time you export media.
- Click the «Export» button.

- A dialog window for folder selection will appear. This selection does not require any action on your part; click directly on «Ok» to begin the transfer.

Your images are now being transferred and uploaded to Imageshop. Please note that in some cases, it may take up to 10 minutes for the images to become visible in your image bank. Accompanying metadata, such as saved keywords from Lightroom, will be included in the upload depending on your company's current system configuration.
Solve problems with updates (Troubleshooting)
The vast majority of inconsistencies or error messages with the Lightroom integration can be resolved by keeping the software up to date. If you find that something stalls, you should first update the Lightroom application itself, and then the integration plugin. The Lightroom application itself is updated normally directly through the Adobe Creative Cloud app. You update the integration plugin from Lightroom Classic as follows:
- In the left menu under «Publish Services», double-click on «Photo Upload».

- Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the settings window to check the update status. If an update is available, a red text stating «newer version available» will be displayed at the top of the «Photo Upload - Settings» section.
- Click on the «Update» button to begin updating Photo Upload FTP.

- In the dialog box that pops up, click on «Update». Once the download is complete, confirm the subsequent box by clicking «Ok», and finally click «Close».
- Close all open dialog windows and exit Lightroom Classic completely.
- Restart Lightroom Classic. Upon initial launch, you may be prompted to accept updated terms of use for Photo Upload FTP again – click on «Agree».
If you reopen the settings for Photo Upload and scroll to the bottom, the status field will confirm that you are running the latest version and that no updates remain.

If the problems persist despite full updates to both Lightroom and the plugin, you can find extended troubleshooting guides on the plugin's official support page: newpproducts.com/lightroom-plug-ins/support-faq/.
