Introduction
This is a user guide focusing on the administration of the Designer. Imageshop Designer is an advanced tool for creating templates and designs based on text, images, and other elements. These can in turn be exported to PDF or as images. To access Imageshop Designer, this module must be enabled for your organization. This article describes Designer from an administrators perspective. A user manual for how to use Designer is also created, which describes the function in Designer.
To access the Designer as an administrator, go to "Designer" in the edit menu in the administration of Imageshop. Other users who have access to the Designer will see Designer as a menu item in Imageshop. You can either grant access to the Designer for an entire interface or at the user level.
User rights in Designer
Administrators and editors have full rights in the Designer. This means they can save, edit, and delete shared templates. Standard users can only view and use templates. Templates are shared designs for the organization, while "my designs" are personal designs that are only available to the user.
An administrator and editor can determine which elements and what a standard user can edit in a template. This is done by selecting an element on the page and clicking on "placeholder". In the screenshot below, I have chosen that standard users should have full rights to change the selected text, but for example, not to move, scale, or rotate the text.
User Configuration
By going to Edit -> Users, and clicking on a user, you can specify that a user who is not an administrator has access to Imageshop Designer. Administrators will always have access to the Designer.
Configuration
Imageshop Designer has its own configuration page where you can manage access rights, choose default colors, and upload fonts that should be available in Imageshop Designer.
Interface
Depending on which interfaces are available in your Imageshop, you will see a list of interfaces that you can toggle on or off. Administrators and users who have activated the Designer will always have access to it regardless of the selected interfaces below. This will override the user's settings, so any user who has access to an interface where the Designer is activated will have access to the Designer. These interfaces will have a link to the Designer. Changes in selection are saved immediately.
Warning: The number of users who get access to the Designer during a month will affect billing, so it may be wise to activate the Designer only for specific users and not use the options below to turn on the Designer for the entire interface. You can turn on the Designer for a specific user in user administration, as described above.
Colors
Here you can choose and name colors you want to be available as default choices in various contexts where it is relevant to choose colors in the Designer. The name of the color will appear in the Designer along with the color. You can either provide the color code in various color formats, choose a color anywhere on the screen with the color picker, or freely choose from a color palette. Se below.
Fonts
Here is an example of how this might look after uploading. The name and family will be visible in the Designer, and it will be possible to choose the different variants of a font that is uploaded. If you wish, you can choose that no other fonts should be available in the Designer except those that are uploaded. This way, the user can be forced to use only these fonts.
