When uploading to Imageshop, the system will automatically check if the files already exist in the image bank. If a file is recognized, it will be marked as a duplicate. This makes it easy to keep your image bank organized and avoid unnecessarily storing the same file multiple times.

How the duplicate check works

  1. Log in to the administration panel via admin5.imageshop.no.
  2. Click on «Upload» in the left menu.
  3. Select or drag in the files you wish to upload.
  4. If a file already exists in the image bank, it will immediately be marked with a yellow warning and the text «Duplicate» in the upload overview.

Important notes:

  • Simultaneous upload: If you upload two identical files within the exact same upload batch, the system will not detect it. Imageshop only checks new files against images that have already been fully published in the database beforehand.
  • Exact file identity: The files must be completely identical (sharing the same digital fingerprint). The system will not flag files as duplicates if it is a screenshot of an image, or if it is a different file format (e.g., JPG vs. PNG) of an image with the same motif.
